It's that time of the year. Time to get the costumes on, parade at school, and go trick-or-treating. This year Duquan chose to be Lightning McQueen's driver. He first chose to be Captain Jack Sparrow again (because this year's costume is from the 3rd movie and had a few changes), but "Mommy" was not willing to buy a costume that was the same character as last year. Jaden chose Belle, of course.
Steve and I were Death Eaters from the Harry Potter books.
School activities at SLE included a parade where each grade got to show off each of their costumes. It was a cold morning, but Duquan was bundled up warm in his costume. It warmed up though and a sweaty boy came home that afternoon and said, "Mom, I'm so hot my t-shirt is soaked." Well, the costume is perfect for a cold autumn Halloween night, but not for a heat-wave Halloween afternoon.
There were a lot of princesses at Jaden's preschool. Her is Belle (Jaden) and her friend Cinderella (Maddy) all ready for the day's festivities. Maddy is Duquan's friend's (Aiden) sister. She's a year older than Jaden though. I think it's about time for a tea party!
It's a lucky thing to have a Daddy and Poppop on the town's fire department. Steve put on his fire gear for the preschoolers and passes out candy. Thanks to the fire house resident Asher the kids got to see one of the fire engines out in the open.
And of course Mommy was there to take some pictures. This one is a keeper. Look they match! Belle's dress matches the firefighter's jacket.
And here is a clipping from the local newspaper, Santa Cruz Sentinel. All of the kids brought canned goods to the local food shelter before they went trick-or-treating around to all the businesses in Ben Lomond. There's our Jaden!
